Starbucks to debut ice cream line

Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Starbucks will start nationwide distribution of its new ice cream line in February, which concludes its transition to a partnership with Unilever.

The Seattle-based coffee company said in September that manufacturing, marketing and distribution of Starbucks ice cream products would be done by Unilever in 2009.Several customers have noticed that they cannot find the ice cream on grocery store shelves.

Starbucks also pulled peanut butter products off its shelves in the United States and Canada as a precaution following a salmonella scare.
 
U.S. health officials have said a recent salmonella outbreak was traced to thePeanut Corp. of America at its Blakely, Ga., processing plant.Starbuckssaid Peanut Corp. of America is not a supplier, but it is doing a recall as a precautionary measure.
