Starbucks to cut 1,000 jobs

Seattle Times: Starbucks plans to cut 1,000 non-store positions, the company has announced. About 550 people will be laid off at company operations around the country and about 450 positions will be eliminated through attrition.
 
Jim Alling, head of Starbucks' international operations, will be leaving the company as well.
