June 1, 2006
SEATTLE — Starbucks credited food sales and blended beverages for its solid May sales.
Company-operated same-store sales jumped 7 percent for May and revenues increased 23 percent to $5 billion up from $4.1 billion last year.
"Starbucks handcrafted beverages, particularly our blended beverage offerings, along with strong food sales were key contributors to our May results," said Jim Donald, president and chief executive officer.
