Starbucks nixes iced coffee freebie
August 29, 2006
SEATTLE — A recent Starbucks e-mail for free iced coffee was floating around the United States mistakenly, leading the company to cancel it. In an official statement, Starbucks said the e-mail was intended to be distributed to a limited group of employees in the Southeast Aug. 23.
"Unfortunately, it has been redistributed beyond the original intent and modified beyond Starbucks control," the company said. "Effective immediately, this offer will no longer be valid at any Starbucks locations."
