Starbucks launches Witch's Brew

Starbucks is stirring up a new Halloween concoction this year with Witch's Brew Frappuccino blended beverage. Participating Starbucks stores in the United States, Canada, Mexico and select markets in the Caribbean will offer the newest Halloween frappuccino blended beverage starting today for a limited time while supplies last, according to a company press release.

The concoction starts with a purple blend of "toad's breath" and orange crème frappuccino and a swirl of green "bat warts" (made with chia seeds). A topping of vanilla whipped cream and dusting of green "lizard scale" powder finishes the beverage.

"We wanted to create a flavor that you might enjoy at a Halloween party," said Jennica Robinson, who is part of Starbucks' beverage development team. "It gets a little bit of juiciness from the orange flavor."

LTO frappuccino beverages have become a tradition at Starbucks. The Franken frappuccino blended beverage first came to life in 2014, followed by the Frappula frappuccino blended beverage in 2015 and 2016, and Zombie frappuccino blended beverage in 2017.

"Starbucks loves to celebrate Halloween, and each year our frappuccino brings something different to the season," said Robinson. "We started with Frappula, which was inspired by an old-school horror movie. Zombie frappuccino was like the walking dead, a little ghastly. Witch's Brew is very fun, vibrant, bubbly, the life of the party."

Halloween treats and tunes
Starbucks has more ways to get into the Halloween spirit with tunes from Starbucks Halloween playlist and spooky treats in stores, available for a limited time while supplies last.

• Mummy Cake Pop: Vanilla cake pop dressed up as a mummy for Halloween with glowing green eyes and dipped in a chocolate coating.
• Raccoon Sugar Cookie: A whimsical, woodland critter by way of a buttery iced sugar cookie. Catch one while you can!
