Starbucks June comps up 6%

SEATTLE —Starbucks Corp. said same-store sales rose 6 percent in June.
According to Thomson First Call, analysts had been looking for a 7-percent rise in comparable-store sales for the month.
Starbucks said revenue in the five-week period ended July 2 rose 22 percent to $751 million compared with $618 million in the same period last year. The coffee chain credited the positive numbers to seasonal blended beverages and food sales.
