Starbucks cuts 600 positions

Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Starbucks Corp. has laid off 220 employees nationwide — about 73 of them in Seattle — and will allow another 380 planned or current positions to remain unfilled.
The job cuts affect mainly people working in finance, marketing, communications, store development, human relations, supplies and security, said spokesman Brandon Borrman. They do not affect in-store workers, he said.
