April 19, 2009
DENVER — Spicy Pickle Franchising Inc. has announced its plans to expand the company's Vancouver, B.C.-based Bread Garden Urban Café chain.
Spicy Pickle CEO Marc Geman said the chain is weathering economic pressures better than most and is getting ready to open a location on the University of British Columbia campus. Spicy Pickle executives also met with officials from the Vancouver airport to open a location on the terminal C concourse. Additionally, the company opened its first Bread Urban cafe location in Australia at the end of March.
"We have several other locations we are working on along with a large effort to improve the menu offerings and make the operations as efficient as possible to ensure consistency throughout the chain," Geman said. "This acquisition is turning out to be very timely and presents a great ongoing opportunity for the company."
