Sodexo aims to make it a cage-free egg world

July 25, 2016

Sodexo, a food service company, is partnering with Humane Society International to supply cage-free eggs across the globe by 2025.

The announcement follows a pledge to switch 20 million pounds of liquid eggs used in the U.S. to cage-free in the next five years. The switch to cage-free eggs will release 750,000 hens from battery cages per year.

McDonalds, Burger King, and Walmart are three of the 200 food companies committed to eliminating eggs supplied from battery-caged hens from all supply chains.
