Smashburger takes Fresh Mex Burger nationwide

Smashburger has introduced its Fresh Mex Burger, available through April 29 in restaurants nationwide.

The burger is topped with fresh avocado, chopped cilantro, onions, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and spicy chipotle mayo on a Mexican roll, and is served with a wedge of lime. Guests also may opt for a Fresh Mex chicken sandwich served with the same combination on one of Smashburger's marinated chicken sandwiches.

The burger flavor combination was originally created as the local burger for the San Diego market. In conjunction with the limited-time offer, Smashburger is inviting guests to check out its Facebook page March 22 to receive a free entrée with the purchase of the new Fresh Mex Burger and Chicken Sandwich.

"One of the things our guests love most about Smashburger is our menu variety that allows them to try a new combination of toppings each time they visit the restaurant," said Tom Ryan, chief concept officer for Smashburger. "Favorite ingredients often used in Mexican cuisine inspired us to create this new recipe ... We are very pleased to share this recipe with Smashfans for a limited time."
