Schlotzsky's will begin serving sandwiches and salads this week in Philadelphia, with the opening of its latest unit Thursday at 4600 City Line Avenue. The new restaurant brings more than 40 jobs to the local economy.
Schlotzsky's will kick-off its grand opening Thursday with games, a prize wheel with Schlotzsky's treats, a giveaway for those who sign up for the Schlotzsky's Bun & Fun eClub and more. Plus, Schlotzsky's will reward the first 100 customers who purchase a CinnaPack of six Cinnabon Classic rolls with one free The Original (small) sandwich a week for a year.
"Our addictive recipes, upbeat surroundings and funny sayings will add tremendous flavor to Philadelphia's fast casual dining scene," said Dave Patel, co-owner of the new location in Philadelphia. "We are excited to bring a brand like Schlotzsky's to the area that makes people smile as they walk in the door with our fresh menu and 'bun humor.'"
Built with Schlotzsky's rebranding efforts in mind, the restaurant includes a tri-branding deal with Cinnabon and Carvel. In addition, everything from tables and chairs to circular-themed local photography — featuring tongue-in-cheek phrases — is designed to entertain and cater to the guest, Patel said.
Schlotzsky's offers more than 15 different sandwiches on its round, freshly baked buns, as well as gourmet pizzas made with Fresh-from-Scratch crusts, freshly made-to-order tossed salads, a variety of soups and desserts, including a Cinnabon Express bakery and a Carvel soft-serve station.
"Dedicated to strategic market development and persistent growth, we are confident the entrance into the Philadelphia area will prove to be another success for Schlotzsky's," said Kelly Roddy, president of Schlotzsky's. "As we establish ourselves in Pennsylvania, we look forward to enhancing our franchise network across the Northeast."
Angus Round Up back on the menu
Schlotzsky's is bringing back its Angus Round Up sandwich trio through Nov. 24. The round toasted sandwiches feature one of three meaty flavors — the Bacon Beefy SmokeCheesy, French Dipsky and the Chipotle Guaca-Beefsky.
"After three very successful runs and a year in the vault, it only seemed appropriate to bring back our famous warm and succulent roast beef for round four," Roddy said. "From their unique flavor profile to generous portions, the response to these sandwiches has always been truly unbelievable and we look forward to again serving guests only the best this season."
