The National Minority Franchising Initiative's (NMFI) has named Schlotzsky's to its list of "50 Top Franchises for Minorities."
The NMFI selected the 50 winners from a list of hundreds of companies based on Franchise Disclosure documents and marketing packages sent to prospective franchisees. Companies also were required to complete a questionnaire which highlighted such topics as minority leadership roles, minority representation within franchise system and minority incentive programs offered. The information was evaluated based on historical performance, brand identification, market dynamics, franchisee satisfaction, the level of initial training and on-going support and financial stability, as well as the results of the questionnaire.
"It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious national organization for our dedication to actively recruit and support minorities within our system," said Kelly Roddy, president of Schlotzsky's. "We are committed to helping minorities build successful businesses and we welcome additional minority entrepreneurs to become part of our 'Lotz Better' family."
Since launching a new brand image and co-branding deal with Cinnabon in 2009, Schlotzsky's has grown at a rapid pace, and has plans to add more than 300 locations by 2015.
