December 3, 2014

The National Restaurant Association's ServSafe Food Handler online training course has been approved by San Diego County in California. The training program is geared toward restaurant operators and their employees, who have the opportunity to earn the San Diego Food Handler card. All food handlers in the county are required to have a card.

According to a news release, the ServSafe Food Handler online training course provides food safety training to employees in five key areas including basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination and allergens, time and temperature and cleaning and sanitation.

"As the leader in food safety training throughout the United States, we are glad to see our ServSafe Food Handler online course approved in the County of San Diego," said Sherman Brown, SVP of business and financial strategy for the NRA's ServSafe Food Safety Business. "ServSafe training solutions help restaurant operators and employees meet and exceed food safety regulations and standards, ensuring the 130 million meals served daily by our industry are safe for guests to enjoy."
