Saladworks store sets opening-day sales record

CONSHOCKEN, Pa. — The Oct. 1 debut of Saladworks' new 2,600 sq. ft. store in Mount Larel, N.J., set a company record with more than $18,000 in gross sales.
In all, 2,026 salads were sold between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.An additional 700 customers who preferred not to wait in line were presented with $10 Saladworks gift cards.
The new store layout was designed to maximize throughput, allowing customers to enter, order, pay and exit more easily. At the Mount Laurel opening, a fresh salad was custom made-to-order for each customer every 20 seconds during the 11 hours of operation; an average of 184 salads per hour.
Saladworks used the event to support the childhood cancer charity Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
