Saladworks intros True Nutrition campaign

January 20, 2010

Saladworks has launched its True Nutrition campaign that will begin Feb. 1. The campaign will start with a systemwide menu conversion for its stores, to be completed by April 2010. In keeping with new laws regarding nutritional menu labeling, Saladworks also will unveil a line of signature salads all less than 500 calories.

The menu conversion will highlight new powerhouse food salad ingredients. Powerhouse foods are foods that offer extra nutritional benefits to consumers. Saladworks recognizes that all calories are not created equal, and the new menu will reflect this with 50 fresh salad ingredients for consumers to choose from. New ingredients include chickpeas, edamame, and sunflower seeds – all excellent sources of protein and fiber.

Another addition to the True Nutrition standardized menu is House Healthy Dressings. Made with yogurt instead of mayonnaise, the dressings will be an added source of calcium and protein.

"Saladworks was founded on the cornerstone of serving nutritional foods in an upscale, quick-service environment. With True Nutrition, Saladworks is educating and empowering our fans to make healthy decisions when choosing a salad or creating their own," John Scardapane, Saladworks' founder and CEO, said.
