Roger Laverty becomes Farmer Bros. CEO

TORRANCE, Calif. — Roger "Rocky" Laverty has been elected to the Farmer Bros. board of directors and will become the company's CEO effective December 2007, the company has announced.
Laverty has served since 2006 as president and chief operating officer.
He will succeed Guenter Berger as CEO. Berger will continue as chairman of the board after retiring in December 2007. He has been with the company for 47 years.
Laverty previously served two years as president and CEO of Diedrich Coffee, a specialty coffee roaster, and 19 years with Smart & Final, a Los Angeles-based food retailer, where his positions included CEO, COO and general counsel.
