Restaurant Holdings acquires New York NY Fresh Deli

ORLANDO, Fla. — Restaurant Holdings Inc., formerly Passport Restaurants Inc., acquired the emerging fast-casual chain, New York NY Fresh Deli, as listed on Entrepreneur Magazine's May 2006 list of Top 50 New Franchises. New York NY Fresh Deli, which is based in Phoenix, features fresh signature New York-style hot sub sandwiches, gourmet deli sandwiches and a full-line of fresh-cut salads. The average check is approximately $9, a news release said. There are currently 35 franchised New York NY Fresh Deli restaurants operating in 17 states. In addition, there are signed franchise agreements for another 27 restaurants in 14 states.
"This acquisition is an ideal fit for our business plan, which calls for acquiring and growing high business potential restaurant concepts in the underdeveloped casual and quick-casual dining segments of the U.S. restaurant industry," said Christopher R.
