Quiznos franchisees criticize corporate office, close locations
January 29, 2007
Evansville Courier & Press: The owner of a recently closed East Side Quiznos Subs franchise criticized the corporation's business practices and thanked her customers for their loyalty. Melody Cox and her husband, Don Cox Jr., operated two Evansville locations that have both since closed.
Cox said in an interview rising food costs and a corporate requirement to accept coupons without reimbursement were among the factors that led to both stores' closing. Adding to the problems, she said, were mandates requiring Quiznos franchisees to buy goods from Quiznos-owned suppliers.
