Q1 comps fall at Caribou Coffee
April 9, 2007
MINNEAPOLIS — Comparable-store sales at Caribou Coffee Co. Inc. shops fell 1 percent in the 13 week period ended April 1, the company announced. Caribou Coffee officials said the decrease was partly due to harsh weather conditions in the areas where the company operates.
Caribou Coffee's total net sales for the period was approximately $61.5 million, an increase of 10 percent over the same period in 2006.
As of April 1, Caribou operated 475 coffeehouses, of which 4 company-owned and 9 franchised coffeehouses opened in the 2007 first quarter. The company expects to release its fiscal first quarter financial results after the market closes on May 3.
