Paul Hibler, founder of Pitfire Artisan Pizza and the American Gonzo Food Corporation restaurants, has announced that Pitfire's eighth location will open in Pasadena, California, in early December. Also in Pasadena, Hibler will introduce Superba Snacks & Coffee in February 2014, the fifth concept to join the American Gonzo Food Corporation restaurant family, located next door to the Pitfire restaurant.
"We've always had our hearts set on opening a Pitfire in Pasadena, and have created this restaurant, as well as Superba Snacks + Coffee, to reflect the city's family-focused, tight-knit community," Hibler said in a news release. "Whether our guests are coming in for dinner with the whole family, or just popping in for a morning coffee and pastry, we want to provide locals with places where they can feel at home anytime."
Pitfire currently has restaurants in North Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles, Westwood, Mar Vista, West Hollywood, Costa Mesa and Manhattan Beach.
The new Pasadena restaurant will feature a full liquor bar, rotating on-tap brews and domestic and craft bottle varieties, as well as wine selections by the glass or the bottle. The 4,500-square-foot space was designed by Reed Architecture Group and includes indoor and outdoor seating and the brand's signature red wood-fired kiln as the focal point.

Superba Snacks + Coffee will serve fresh breads, pastries and sandwiches, as well as coffee from Verve Coffee Roasters based in Santa Cruz, California.
Superba Snacks + Coffee's 1,590-square-foot space's exteriors were also designed by Reed Architecture Group, with interiors by Charisse Cardenas of Plato & Pomo.
