Pie Five Pizza announced another Florida development deal for up to 20 new locations in the Tampa market with DP5 Investments. In September, Pie Five announced a 28-store deal in South Florida and is now adding the Tampa market with the same group, according to a company press release.
"Florida's west coast deserves artisan make-your-own pies with fresh ingredients, homemade sauces and handcrafted crusts too," said Jeffrey Parker, franchise development partner with DP5 Investments. "We felt like Tampa was a natural expansion of the brand in the Florida market!"
As a former second-generation McDonald's franchisee, Parker and his partners with DP5 Investments have substantial multi-unit restaurant operations experience. The group is looking for initial sites in Temple Terrace, New Tampa along with Clearwater and St. Petersburg, the release stated.
"Pie Five looks for franchisees who are true operating partners and bring extensive experience to our brand," said Randy Gier, chief eating officer of Rave Restaurant Group Inc., parent company of Pie Five Pizza Co. "Jeff and his partners are very knowledgeable operators — with their energy and drive, we expect the South Florida and Tampa markets to be very successful!"
Pie Five's newest development deal follows multi-unit deals recently announced in New Mexico, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin,Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Colorado, Kentucky, and Indiana. This is in addition to company-owned expansion in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth. Pie Five has grown from one location to 73 in less than four years.
Dallas-based Pie Five Pizza Co. is a subsidiary of RAVE Restaurant Group Inc. RAVE owns, franchises and supplies more than 300 Pie Five and Pizza Inn restaurants operating domestically and internationally.
