PeopleMatter secures $7.2 million in Series B funding

May 2, 2011

PeopleMatter, a talent management provider for the service industry, has announced that it has secured $7.2 million in Series B funding to expand sales and marketing, and invest in operations and services.

The round was led by Noro-Moseley Partners, with participation from previous investors C & B Capital, Intersouth Partners and Harbert Ventures.

"We've done extensive market research on the talent management industry. PeopleMatter's unconventional platform integrating the consumer, employee and employer in targeted service-based verticals is poised for substantial growth," said Mike Elliott, managing partner, Noro-Moseley Partners.

Delivered via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), the PeopleMatter system brings together HR software tools to hire, schedule, teach and engage the hourly workforce for C-stores, hospitality, retail and the foodservice industries from a single, integrated platform.

PeopleMatter signed more than 1,000 units in the first quarter of 2011 alone since launching the platform in September 2010. First quarter customers included foodservice companies such as Flash Foods, Noodles and Company, Boloco and Papa Gino's.

"We've seen PeopleMatter add customers and scale their business at an incredible rate while developing new products and features faster than any of their competitors. They are creating a whole new dynamic for talent management in the service industry," said Wayne Hunter, managing partner, Harbert Ventures.
