Pei Wei intros Japanese Chile Beef Ramen
August 24, 2009
Pei Wei Asian Diner has announced the debut of a new dish, conceived to revolutionize the way people think about everyday ramen noodles.
The new dish, Japanese Chile Beef Ramen, combines egg noodles glazed in a soy mirin-chile sauce, wok-seared vegetables and flank steak, topped with a sprinkling of cilantro and a kiss of lime. Beginning Aug. 31, it will be available at all Pei Wei locations.
"People assume the only way to eat ramen noodles is from packaged, dried blocks, but I think that's a disservice to both ramen and Japanese cuisine in general," said chef Eric Justice, director of culinary operations for Pei Wei Asian Diner. "We created Japanese Chile Beef Ramen to show the world that there's amazing flavor to be found in ramen dishes; you just have to defy expectations."
The beef can be substituted for chicken, shrimp or vegetables & tofu and the price ranges from $6.75 to $7.95.
