Panera reports flat July sales

ST LOUIS — Panera Bread Co. reported flat comps for July. The company said sales increases for the month were negatively impacted by sales lost at eight company-owned bakery cafés during the power outage in the St. Louis Metro area.

System-wide same store sales increased 1.8 percent. The company estimates the power outages decreased system-wide comps by 0.2 percent.
