Ohio Chipotle closes after illness outbreak
April 20, 2008
Akron Beacon Journal: The Kent city health commissioner said it was unclear whether a Chipotle Mexican Grill there would reopen today after at least 34 people became ill Thursday after eating at the restaurant. Most of the sick were Kent State University students and all of them ate Chipotle burritos.
Sick people started showing up at the emergency room of Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio, at about 10 p.m. with suspected food poisoning. Health officials have not been able to narrow the illness down to anything more specific than burritos, all of which contained a variety of ingredients.
