NYC deli teams up with Vita Coco to deliver hangover kits

New York City-based Lenwich is teaming up with Postmates and Vita Coco, a coconut water beverage brand to not only celebrate National Hangover Day Wednesday but to also help remedy the first hangover of the new decade. The companies are offering free, limited-edition hangover recovery kits to New York City customers, according to a company press release.

As part of the promotion, newly engaged television reality stars Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour will personally deliver a handful of the kits to select recipients who have ordered through the Postmates mobile app.

The kits include electrolyte and nutrient-rich Vita Coco coconut water, an egg and cheese sandwich from Lenwich, Ibuprofen, a face mask from Korean skincare brand Banila and other Vita Coco-branded merchandise designed for relaxation. 

"We bring the ultimate convenience to your doorstep, so delivering relief with Vita Coco on New Year's Day is a great way to kick the new decade off right," Brandon Teitel, Postmates SVP of brand strategy, said in the release.

Vita Coco will also have a fully branded hangover recovery food truck stationed at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cleveland Place, between Kenmare and Spring streets in Soho. It will give out free egg and cheese sandwiches and Vita Coco coconut water while supplies last, as well as additional Vita Coco branded merchandise. Godwin and Barbour will also staff the truck to provide customers with free sandwiches and coconut water. 

Customers may start ordering the kits at 10 a.m. Wednesday via the Postmates app on iOS or Android. The kits have no added fees but are only available while supplies last, according to the release.

This promotion isn't the first time Lenwich has partnered with Postmates. In June, the deli and Postmates teamed up to deliver "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" Meal Pack, which honored the television show's Jewish roots by including a pastrami on rye sandwich, a pickle, a black and white cookie, and Steiner tomato juice.
