Newk's Eatery recognized for giving back

Newk's Eatery is being honored for its charitable efforts and donations.

The International Franchise Association’s Education & Research Foundation, at the second annual "Franchising Gives Back" awards, recognized Newk's Cares with the Silver Award in Innovation and Impact for fundraising more than $420,000 for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.

The philanthropic branch was launched in the wake of Lori Newcomb's diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Lori is the wife of Newk's Eatery CEO, and hopes to raise over $500,000 for the research fund by the end of the year.

"While Newk's Cares began with my own diagnosis, it has since grown into an incredible community made up of hundreds of women and families who are bravely facing ovarian cancer battles of their own,” said Lori Newcomb, Newk's Cares co-founder, in a release.
