BogoDine LLC, a technology startup company, announced it has chosen Traverse City, Michigan, for the test-market launch of BogoDine, a mobile app platform that allows restaurants to log-in to a dashboard from any computer, and within 60 seconds, enter and deliver dining deals to consumer smartphones throughout the United States and Canada. Company executives are currently giving one-year free trials to restaurants in Traverse City, according to a company press release. BogoDine will officially launch on Feb. 1.
"Traverse City was the natural choice," said Tyler Broucek, BogoDine's founder and CEO. "Traverse City relishes its national reputation as a 'foodie' town and its support of dining innovation. Our goal with BogoDine is to give restaurateurs the ability to send out instant dining deals to consumers. People will also be able to find deals instantly, in addition to enjoying BogoDine's Lifestyle Buttons to locate the nearest entertainment, happy hours, late-night specials, and chefs' daily features. This sets BogoDine apart from all other marketplace participants."
BogoDine introduced its iOS version for Apple smartphones Jan. 5 and will follow with the Android version in February. Broucek launched the company in May 2015 with seed funding, followed by his selection as one of six companies to participate in the State of Michigan Emerge Xcelerate program, which funds, mentors and accelerates startup companies in Michigan.
Broucek said he has come a long way since his first test-marketing results four years ago and is excited to finally see his project reach fruition, the release stated.
"The BogoDine Team is grateful to all of our supporters who have patiently been waiting for our launch," he said. "We can't wait to get free one-year trials of BogoDine into the hands of restaurateurs in Traverse City so they can discover how easily and quickly they can pass along deals to anyone with a free BogoDine app on their smartphone, including out-of-town guests visiting Traverse City."
Pending a successful test run in Traverse City, expansion into a second test-market in Grand Rapids, Michigan, will follow, with plans for a national launch in May in Chicago.
