The global kombucha market exceeded $1.5 billion in 2017, and is expected to increase by 17.5 percent by 2023. And it's a trend that California's Nekter Juice Bar is embracing. Thanks to a partnership with GT's Kombucha, Nekter customers may now add the naturally fermented tea containing living probiotics, enzymes and natural acids to their bowls and smoothies, according to a company press release.
GT's Kombucha debuted in 1995, when its founder, "GT Dave," was inspired to bottle Kombucha and share it with the world after his mother credited the homemade brew in helping her recover from breast cancer. Still handcrafted in small batches to this day, GT's Kombucha is organic, vegan and gluten-free, with no added sugar or sweeteners.
"Nekter Juice Bar's new Kombucha Smoothies and Acai Bowls are the ultimate functional food that will help the entire body perform at its optimal best," said Steve Schulze, co-founder and CEO, Nekter Juice Bar. "With the New Year being a traditional time to reenergize healthy living habits, our new Kombucha offerings are an ideal low-calorie and high-nutrition option that can be customized to work within any lifestyle preference."
Founded in 2010, Nekter Juice Bar has more than 100 units.
