MOD Pizza announces fan pizza winner

A creation dubbed simply, "The Petra," took home the grand prize in MOD Pizza's nationwide create-your-own fall pizza fan contest. The creation was named after its creator and is now available for order at the  chain through the end of 2016. 

"The Petra first caught our eye due to the fantastic green hues of the pesto and arugula, dark browns of the bacon and vibrant whites provided by the feta cheese," said the brand's Culinary Manager Brian Figler, in a news release. "The unique combination of these ingredients is delicious. The earthy pesto, the peppery arugula and salty bacon contrast nicely with the bright flavor of artichoke hearts, the sharp bite of jalapeños and the creamy saltiness of MOD's feta cheese. This is a great-tasting pizza truly made-on-demand."

A news release said that the chain has also added two new vegetable LTOs, including roasted kale and corn — both available until the end of the year.
