Mizzou teams up with Red Mango

October 4, 2011

Red Mango has signed a marketing and sponsorship agreement with Mizzou Sports Properties, the multi-media rights holder for Mizzou Athletics.

In a new sponsorship to deliver healthy meal options to Mizzou student-athletes, Red Mango's frozen yogurt will now be served in the Sells Family Dining Hall at the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex.

The University of Missouri Athletic Department has 20 sports and competes in the Big 12 conference. This marks the second agreement of this kind for Red Mango and an NCAA Division 1-A athletic program.

Red Mango also provides smoothies to student athletes through the Department of Athletics at Baylor University. These agreements underscore a mission for the food retailer to deliver healthy treats to a larger audience nationwide where demand continues to grow, said Dan Kim, founder and chief concept officer of Red Mango

"Athletes and our frozen yogurt and smoothies are a natural fit together," Kim said. "Because of their intense, competitive lifestyle, they can enjoy the health benefits our yogurt provides in a refreshing format."

The menu isn't new to the community of Columbia, Mo. Earlier this year, Red Mango celebrated the grand opening of its 100th U.S. location at the self-serve store on 1009 E. Broadway.

Also, Red Mango has awarded a license agreement to SSP Americato open a self-serve location inside San Diego International Airport.

"We're excited to partner with SSP America and provide busy travelers with dining options that promote a healthy lifestyle," Kim said. "This agreement puts Red Mango in a great destination and gives us a chance to invite millions of travelers to treat themselves well."

Red Mango opened its first U.S. store in July 2007 in Los Angeles, and has since celebrated more than 140 store openings across the country.
