Meatheads teams up with Blackhawks star to save pit bulls

Meatheads will be offering a special hot dog on its menu this spring, "The Bickell Dog," created in honor of Chicago Blackhawks Left Winger Bryan Bickell and his wife Amanda and their charity, The Bryan and Amanda Bickell Foundation.

Meatheads will be offering a special hot dog on its menu this spring, "The Bickell Dog," created in honor of Chicago Blackhawks Left Winger Bryan Bickell and his wife Amanda and their charity, The Bryan and Amanda Bickell Foundation.

The footlong Vienna Beef hot dog is topped with chili and Fritos and served on a cheddar cheese New England-style bun. The hot dog ($5.00) will be on the menu from March 6th to May 3rd. Meatheads will donate 10 percent of the hot dog sale price to The Bryan and Amanda Bickell Foundation (www.bickellfoundation.org).

To kick off the "Bickell Dog" promotion, Bryan Bickell will be visiting Meatheads in Roscoe Village (3304 N. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60618) on Saturday, March 7th from 3:30 p.m. -5 p.m. for a meet-and-greet with fans and supporters of his foundation. Guests can line up outside of the restaurant at 2 p.m., Bryan will sign autographs and take photos. Some of Bick's adoptable pit bulls will also be on-site for all to meet. Cost is $5 for kids 10 and under and $10 for adults. This includes a voucher for a free Bickell Dog. Space is limited and it is first come, first serve. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Bryan and Amanda Bickell Foundation.

The Bryan and Amanda Bickell Foundation was founded in 2012 with the mission to create awareness for dogs identified as "pit bulls."
