McAlister's signs franchise deals for restaurants in 2 states

August 9, 2016

McAlister's Deli announced franchise agreements for Georgia and Illinois locations, including five restaurants in Atlanta, as well as additional units in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Snellville and Cumming and three locations in Champaign, Decatur and Effingham.

"Both Georgia and Illinois are key growth markets for McAlister's and by teaming up with some of the most successful multi-unit franchise owners in the country, we will not only elevate our presence in these states, but nationally as well," Jeff Sturgis, McAlister's VP of franchise development, said in a news release about the agreements. "These experienced franchisees bring a wealth of knowledge and success developing and operating restaurants. We are confident they will be a great complement to our existing base of successful multi-unit franchisees."

The Atlanta locations will be operated by former NFL  players, James Butler and Tye Hill, with franchising involvement with different brands, and the Illinois units will be owned and developed by experienced franchisee and business owner, Charlie Rogers.

According to the release, McAlister's saw a successful 2015 year of growth with $548 million in system-wide sales, 27 new restaurants and 60 new unit signings. The chain operates more than 360 franchised locations in the U.S.
