McAlister's opens 13th Virginia location

McAlister's has opened its first Northern Virginia location in seven years in Fairfax, bringing the concept's total to 13 in the state, according to a press release.

"Northern Virginia is a key growth market for McAlister's and with the new Fairfax restaurant, we are confident this move will prove successful in helping increase our footprint and brand awareness throughout the state," said Jeff Sturgis, McAlister's vice president of sales, in the release. "We look forward to the brand's continued growth in this region and throughout the U.S., and that wouldn't be possible without the passion and talent of our dedicated franchisees."

The unit is owned and operated by Steve and Heather Ricks, who have over seven years of McAlister's experience with two locations in Herndon and Front Royal, VA. 

"I've been part of the McAlister's family for almost eight years and it's an honor to open our first Fairfax restaurant at such a pivotal time in the brand's growth," said Heather Ricks. "I look forward to bringing McAlister's genuine hospitality to my home community and to sharing the favorites that our guests know, love, and come back for time and again — including our sandwiches, spuds, soups, salads, desserts and sweet tea."
