Manitowoc to display three NRA Kitchen Innovation Award products

April 12, 2009

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Lincoln Foodservice Products, a Manitowoc Foodservice company, will display its Quest Energy Management System at the 2009 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show, May 16-19 at Chicago's McCormick Place.

Lincoln's new energy-management product, also a NRA 2009 Kitchen Innovations Award winner, is an energy savings system designed to optimize the performance of a gas or electric powered burner. The product is focused to save 40 percent to 65 percent of energy at idle conditions.
Key end-user benefits include reduced operations utility costs, utility connection cost and lower local utility demand costs. Lincoln's energy-efficient models utilize FastBake technology along with Quest EMS to optimize the burner performance to use less energy for the same amount of heat. The overall operating system is designed for greater efficiencies unlike others who only have a gas valve to help with energy savings.

This is the fifth year in a row that Lincoln has been honored with a Kitchen Innovations Award.

"We're honored to be recognized by this prestigious group for our ongoing commitment to innovation and technology," said Dean Landeche, vice president of marketing for Manitowoc Foodservice. "Our investment in research and development, as well as our commitment to manufacturing excellence, allows Manitowoc Foodservice to consistently deliver the most innovative equipment solutions to our customers."

Manitowoc Foodservice also received 2009 Kitchen Innovations Awards for two other products: the gas version of the Frymaster Protector Fryer and the Garland Xpress Grill.

The Frymaster Protector commercial fryer line offers oil, energy and labor savings in a gas model. The fryer's high-technology features maximize oil life by up to four weeks and an Oil Attendant automatically monitors frypot oil levels and replenishes as needed. The gas Protector earned an ENERGY STAR rating of 56.4 among gas fryers.

Garland's Xpress Grill features a dual-surface along with product recognition controls that automatically adjust cook times and temperature based on product thickness. Upper and lower grill plates cook both sides simultaneously, reducing cook times by 50 percent.

All winners will be showcased with live interactive demonstrations in the Kitchen Innovations Pavilion during the National Restaurant Show in May 2009.
