Mama Fu's Louisiana development deal

August 16, 2010

Since its purchase by Murphy Adams Restaurant Group in 2008, Mama Fu’s has released a new prototype, retooled its menu and added an innovative “flex-casual” service model. The concept now is announcing its first development agreement for three restaurants in southern Louisiana.

The signed agreement, targeting Baton Rouge and Lafayette, is part of an aggressive national expansion plan calling for 130 restaurants to be built over the next five years. The company now has 13 locations operating throughout Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina and Texas, and the signed agreement will bring the first Mama Fu’s franchised locations to the Louisiana market.

“It’s a tremendous time for us as we build on our brand’s success and sign our first area development agreement in Louisiana,” said Randy Murphy, president and CEO of Mama Fu’s. “Our newest franchise partners in Louisiana are quality individuals and have extensive experience in the restaurant business. We are excited about their development and look forward to helping them grow.”

SBC Restaurants LLC will lead Mama Fu’s southern Louisiana expansion with area developers Kyle Brechtel, Gary Solomon and Kyle Crochet. The group has found success with other concepts such as Chili’s, Smoothie King, McAlister’s Deli and New Orleans Original Daiquiris.
