World-renowned Loma Linda University Children's Hospital this week honored Farmer Boys Restaurants with the Shirley N. Pettis Award for outstanding dedication and distinguished service to children, according to a news release.
For 16 years, Farmer Boys has hosted an annual Give a Helping Hand in-store fundraiser to support the hospital, as well as sponsoring the hospital's yearly Children's Day, which helps kids conquer their fear of going to the hospital, doctor or dentist.
The chain has donated $655,000 to Loma Linda University Children's Hospital since 2000 for the purchase of cardiac ICU heart monitors, neonatal ICU vein viewers and goods and services for its Children's Day celebration. This year's donations will go to support the organization's Vision 2020 campaign, the release said.
