KFC Canada announced the expansion of its KFC Fresh fast casual concept, which first made its debut in December 2013.
"KFC Fresh began as Canada's incubator for signature innovation, so we're delighted to announce that we're expanding and evolving the concept with a new location at the Stockyards mall in Toronto and an expanded menu," Nicolas Burquier, general manager of KFC Canada, said in a news release.
As the concept expands, it will maintain its open kitchen layout and its signature hand crafted sandwiches, Off the Grill Wraps, Kitchen Fresh Rice Bowls and salads. Prices range from $3.99 for an order of Loaded Waffle Fries topped with guacamole, pico de gallo and jalapenos to $5.99 for four hand breaded chicken strips with a hand spun dipping sauce.
One change will be the addition of beer to the menu, starting this fall. The company will offer beer at its two KFC Fresh locations in the Toronto area, including Molson Canadian, Coors Light, Coors Banquet and Heineken.
David Vivenes, KFC Canada's CMO, said the addition is a natural evolution of the concept.
"KFC Fresh is a relaxed, contemporary gathering place where friends grab a quick, fresh bite for lunch or before heading out for the evening," he said.
The new Stockyards location will also offer grilled burritos, sundaes and ice cream cones, the release said.
