Jury declines damages in Starbucks vending machine suit

August 17, 2009

A Denver jury has declined to award damages to a Longmont, Colo., man and his business partner who sued Starbucks and several other companies, according to a story in the Longmont, Colo., Times-Call.

According to Joseph Degesualdo and Darrell Creswell, co-owners of Cold Coffee America Inc., the companies had agreed to allow their corporate logos to be placed on vending machines that Cold Coffee would then sell to third parties.

The company had sought $50 million to $100 million in damages and requested the award be tripled.

Degesualdo and Creswell had not signed a contract with Starbucks or PepsiCo detailing their business arrangement, according to the story.
