Juice It Up! gets raw

Juice It Up! is opening its 25th Raw Juice Bar in Aliso Viejo, Calif., just eight months after it launched the new concept catering to health-conscious customers.

"The popularity of the Raw Juice Bars has steadily increased since debuting our first upgraded location in January," Frank Easterbrook, president and CEO of Juice It Up!, said in a company press release. "Our Raw Juice Bar stores are enjoying more repeat customers because a whole new audience has been introduced to the idea of juicing."

The chain is in the process of retrofitting its 85 stores to offer the new Raw Juice Bar, which features an expanded line of healthy and functional juice blends. Although the company has always provided fresh-squeezed juice in its stores, the Raw Juice Bars allow locations to share with their customers seven new juice blends including the Refresher, Energizer, Rejuvenator, Awakener, Detoxifier, Immunizer and the Healthy Heart. The juices are made with kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, carrots, lemon, ginger and other micronutrient-rich fruits and vegetables.

Of the company's 25 Raw Juice Bar stores, seven are located in Orange County, Calif. A total of 50 Juice It Up! Raw Juice Bars are expected by the end of the year.

Since the first Juice It Up! opened in Brea, Calif., the juice bar franchise has grown to more than 85 locations across the country and is on track to increase same-store sales 15 to 18 percent in 2012.
