Survey: Mustard still top hot dog topping

July 5, 2017

JJ's Red Hots celebrated July 4th for the fifth year by releasing its Top 10 list of most-loved hot dog toppings, according to a press release.

Analyzing five years of sales data, JJ's found that Americans love their hot dogs with — in order of most popular to least —  mustard, chili, cheese, onions, relish, kraut, slaw, ketchup, bacon and pickles.

"Old habits die hard," JJ's founder Jonathan Luther said. "While we are always pushing the envelope to include the hottest new toppings like pulled pork and brisket, and introducing our guests to things they've never tried before, we always make the classic ingredients available and more often than not, guests opt for traditional favorites."

JJ's Red Hots was featured on Fast Casual's Top 100 Movers & Shakers for two consecutive years.
