Jimmy John's CEO has no plans for a rewards program

May 6, 2014

Jimmy John Liautaud, CEO and founder of Jimmy John's, jumped on Twitter Monday night to engage his brand's fans who were able to ask questions during a live chat event.

Among the insights Liautaud provided:

There could be a grilled sub introduction soon, "I can't share all my secrets ... but maybe a hot steak n cheese comin around the corner."

There could be also be a Jimmy John's location opening in England as early as next week:

#AskJJ can you open a store in England soon?

@LinesJosh Tuesday, JJ

Jimmy John's would never consider a rewards program for frequent diners, Liautaud said. The user who posed the question, "I_look_funny," called that answer "lame" and pointed out how other places such as Moe's are offering loyalty rewards.

Liautaud said he doesn't follow what others are doing, but offered to send I_look_funny a $25 gift card.

The CEO even got political during his Twitter chat, and turned down a marriage proposal:

#AskJJ what do I have to do to get a golden ticket for free subs for life?

@Kane_Traiin Vote for the right politician, they seem to be handing everything out lately. JJ
