Tomorrow, March 30, mark’s Jersey Mike's Day of Giving during which the sub maker will donate 100 percent of sales to charity.
The New Jersey-based fast-casual sub sandwich franchise raised $3 million last year during itsfifth annual event last year, and hopes to beat that achievement this year and again support 180-plus local charities.
"Sub lovers from coast to coast can make a substantial difference tomorrow by joining Jersey Mike's Day of Giving,” notes an announcement. The charities include food banks, hospitals, school groups and youth organizations. The event is always held on the last Wednesday of March.
Throughout the month customers have been invited to visit local Jersey Mike's restaurants and donate to that location's designated charity.
"Please join us at Jersey Mike's on Wednesday, March 30, our Day of Giving. All day our more than 1,000 locations are donating 100 percent of sales to local charities," said Peter Cancro, founder and CEO, who started the company when he was 17 years old, in the announcement.
Since 2010 the franchise has raised more than $14 million for local charities and has distributed more than 1.5 million free subs to help numerous causes.
