Jamba Juice raising money, awareness for cardiovascular health

Jamba Juice announced a host of fundraising, awareness-raising and educational initiatives aimed at supporting cardiovascular health.

February 5, 2015

Jamba Juice Company announced plans to fund and generate awareness for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) for the third consecutive year.

Through Feb. 22, Jamba stores nationwide will raise funds for the AHA through a customer donation campaign. Customers who donate $1 to the AHA will receive a coupon sheet with exclusive Jamba offers and a "Whirl'd Heart" sticker to display the customer's name on Jamba's "Wall of Hearts".

Also through Feb. 22, Jamba will donate $1 to the AHA for every Energy Bowl sold, up to a maximum of $10,000.

Donations will help fund research, education, advocacy, and community outreach programs.

In 2014, Jamba exceeded fundraising goals, raising over $200,000. Jamba looks to surpass that effort in 2015.

"I am pleased to expand our organization's commitment to supporting the important work that the American Heart Association is doing," said Jamba Chairman, President, and CEO James D. White, in a company press release. "The work that the AHA does to provide education to help families make healthier nutrition and lifestyle choices will benefit the greater communities we serve."

Jamba is also an Inaugural Member of the AHA's Heart-Check Mark Meal Certification Program, which means its food has been certified to meet AHA nutrition requirements.

Jamba Juice is also expanding its community outreach and employee engagement efforts through AHA's Hands-Only CPR education program and Fit-Friendly Company certification. During the month of February, Jamba Juice employees nationwide will have the opportunity to learn Hands-Only CPR.

Jamba will also activate additional fundraisers in the San Francisco Bay Area to support the AHA's Heart of Gold Ball, including a silent and virtual auction. Jamba Juice is recognized by the AHA as a Platinum Level Fit-Friendly Worksite.
