Gumbo a Go-Go changes name

LOUISVILLE, Ky.— Cajun and Creole fast casual eatery Gumbo A Go-Go has changed its name to J Gumbo's Down-Home Cajun Cooking to better reflect the restaurant's offferings.

"I wanted a name that clearly stated what we're about," said restaurant founder Billy Fox Jr. "We we were Gumbo A Go-Go, we'd have people call wondering if we were a go-go club. Other people thought we only ran a carry-out business, when in truth we are a fast-casual restaurant with dine-in, carry out and catering."

The "J" In Gumbo's refers to Fox's career as a professional jockey.

In addition to the name change, J Gumbo's is set to launch an aggressive expansion plan in Louisville, Ky. Fox said he expects to open at least four new restaurants within the year.
