Genghis Grill has signed on franchisee group, JNE (Jordan, Nicholas, Elliott) Mongolian LLC, to lead the Tampa, Fla., market and Chris Carroll, an existing joint-venture partner, to lead expansion efforts in the Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina markets.
Jordan Dorsch, president and CEO of JNE Mongolian LLC, has more than 15 years of restaurant management experience. He has won multiple restaurant industry awards including Franchisee of the Year in 1997 and 2004 with Papa John's. From 2003 to 2007, Dorsch served as franchise consultant and district supervisor to each of the region's operations. From 2001-2003, he was part of the turnaround team at Checkers/Rally's Drive-In restaurants, having held multiple positions with the company.
Dorsch and his company have secured six Genghis Grill locations in the Tampa, Fla. market. The first Genghis Grill location is set to open this March in Brandon in a former Krispy Kreme site. A site has been secured to open later this spring in Tampa with future locations set to open in Florida throughout 2011.
Industry veteran Chris Carroll is an existing joint venture partner and plans to further penetrate Genghis Grill's brand in the Southeast. Carroll is president and CEO of Spring Creek Restaurants Ltd., which includes Spring Creek Barbeque, Shady Oak Barbeque & Grill, Casa Rita's Mexican Grill and Mexican Inn Cafes. The company owns and operates more than 35 restaurants across Texas.
Carroll and his group are set to open up their first Genghis Grill location in early March in Charlotte, N.C., in the Ballantyne area. A site also has been secured in the Chace Landing shopping center in Hoover, Ala., and is scheduled to open in late March.
