Fuddruckers rolls out gluten-free bun

March 25, 2013

Gluten-sensitive diners can now indulge their burger and hotdog cravings at Fuddruckers; the Texas-born fast casual chain is in the process of rolling out a gluten-free bun option in partnership with Dallas-based Local Oven.

"While we pride ourselves on our made-from-scratch items, Local Oven has developed a truly premium product that not only speaks to the dietary restrictions of millions of people, but also delivers with the texture and taste that our customers have come to expect from our traditional buns," said Peter Tropoli, chief operating officer.

Dallas guests were the first to experience the new offerings, which are also free of preservatives, dairy, corn and soy, earlier this month thanks to franchisees Daltex Restaurant Management Inc., operator of nine Dallas area locations, and Delaware North Companies, the operator of a Fuddruckers location at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Starting this week, Fuddruckers will be introducing the buns in its corporate locations in Texas and Oklahoma with nationwide availability to follow.
