Fuddruckers announced its South American debut with the opening of its first restaurant at Isidora Goyenchea 3275 in the upscale Las Condes neighborhood in Santiago, Chile.
The 3,500-square-foot restaurant is the first of 10 planned by Chilean franchisee SRTC.
"We are excited to continue the global growth of the Fuddruckers brand through partnerships with homegrown operators like SRTC, who have established themselves as leaders in the field," said Peter Tropoli, COO of Fuddruckers parent company Luby's Inc., in a company press release. "We also look forward to introducing South America to the 'World's Greatest Hamburgers,' including regional specialties like the Avocado Cheese Burger and Cheese Arugula Burger."
SRTC currently owns and operates six brands with 20 restaurants and 700 employees, serving more than 1 million guests each year.
