Freshii hosting gift card swap Jan. 10

Freshii is inviting customers that have a fast food gift card to visit and trade the card in for a free chef-designed menu item.

The fast casual will exchange collected gift cards for cash, via a third-party provider, and donate proceeds to the brand’s charity partner, WE Charity, according to a press release.

The gift card swap program is taking place Thursday, Jan. 10. Guests can present cards valued at $5 or more from any fast food brand (including McDonald's, Subway, Burger King, Taco Bell, Chipotle, and Wendy’s.) Freshii will swap the fast food card for a free chef-designed bowl, burrito, wrap, soup or salad.

"Freshii looks forward to trading in the gift cards for cash to donate to WE, an international charity that partners with communities, both domestically and internationally, to empower them to lift themselves out of poverty. Freshii's focus is to provide nourishing and energizing meals to children and communities in the developing world. The proceeds from this promotion will go directly toward funding these projects," stated a press release on the effort.
