Freshii founder and CEO Matthew Corrin was awarded theErnst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011Award at this year’s 18th Annual celebrations in Ontario, Canada. The awards honor the spirit and positive impact of impressive entrepreneurs across the globe, selecting winners based on vision, leadership, financial success and social responsibility.
Corrin was selected for leading the charge in making menu ingredients transparent both online and in stores and for creating positive change by opening doors to nutritious food in busy communities.
“Being recognized with such a prestigious award for my efforts to make Freshii the first truly transparent, healthy and visionary fast casual restaurant is absolutely amazing,” Corrin said. “When I founded Freshii, I saw a place that modern, busy, and health-minded customers could trust in to get high quality foods with an array of powerful health benefits. I saw a business that would meet fast success because the range of ingredients and nutritionally supportive atmosphere was unrivaled. And now that Freshii has spread across North America and the globe, I imagine giving even more guests energy, access to good meals, and support in eating choices that make a difference in their dynamic lives.”
After opening the first Freshii location in Toronto, Corrin won the ARC award for National Innovative Retail Concept of the Year and earned Freshii the title of Best New Retail Concept in Canada. Two years later, Freshii was named the 22nd Fastest Growing Company in Canada. (Read also, Is Matthew Corrin the next Howard Schultz?)
